I am going to start on my 1996 Range Rover. As with most of them the floors, inner wings and sills will need work. I can get the replacement panels without difficulty. The question is, what is the recommended/best way to join the old and new?
I am thinking joddled and spot welded which raises the question of how do you seal between the old and new faces on an overlapped joint? Putting lines of stuff over the gap does not sound like a good idea and water can capillary in between. Putting a sealer in between before welding would be destroyed with the heat.
So, can anyone please recommend the best method to use for this repair?
I am new to Mig so need a fairly simple method and was trying to avoid butt joints since my technique for doing it upside down will not be good enough!!
