Hi there guys,
Ive just been given a Sealey Automig 250. Its a 3 phase machine, however I was wondering if its possible to convert it to single phase. The few bits of Sealey paperwork that came with it all indicate that it is a single phase machine, however having had the side off it, I can assure anyone that its not. Im not sure what would need to be changed to alter it to single phase, but from what ive found out, Sealey definately sold this welder in a single phase form. I wouldnt mind if it lost a bit of power, as my current machine is only 150 amp, and is more than adequate, im more interested in the fact its just a more suitable machine than my SIP Migmate 150, in that it has wheels, takes a larger reel, and has a euro torch on it (the migmate uses a small reel, throw away gas bottles and the torch is hardwired, and has no wheels!) I guess the alternative would be to do a conversion on the migmate, but this seems more bother than its worth. Any help would be greately appreciated,
Many thanks
Simon
