Another cry for help, earlier this evening was doing another bit welding on my old Imp and after completing a small tack laid the gun down, as I laid it down the welder started to emit a fairly loud rapid clicking noise and the wire started to feed. The only way to stop it was to turn the control knob to off, I've had the side off and there's no obvious fault, stripped the gun to check the micro switch and it's OK.
The noise sound like a relay or contactor trying to make/break contact rapidly other than that I have no idea. It's an old machine but up until this it's been absolutely no trouble.
Anyone point me in the right direction, all help gratefully received.
