This thread is a continuation of a couple of posts that I put in the long running "Today I acquired" thread. The first two posts are lifted directly from that thread. Fresh stuff from post three.
I don't have any experience with petrol lawnmowers so it's an enjoyable learning exercise for me. No expertise implied in anything written here. I'm sure it's all elementary to many on here anyway. I'm still working full time at the moment and waiting for a few bits to arrive. I'm sure it could all be sorted in an afternoon by some but I'm not rushing. I also have to write this up. I've had a number of very helpful suggestions from the original post to guide me already.

Engine turns over, oil looks clean, nothing in the fuel tank. Maybe fuel was drained before being put away last time or was it the perished fuel hose? Will check for spark later. All those hours watching Mustie1 videos on Youtube might not have been wasted.
