Carrying on from my last thread I now have my motors together and will hopefully start putting this together over the coming weeks in between house work.
Firstly I should point out:
But after watching dozens of youtube videos and reading multiple articles I'm going to give it a bash.
I hope to try and accomplish it the same way this chap did:
Father in law is also a NICEIC electrician if I need help but I really want to avoid asking him all together as he will either A) take over and I will learn nothing, or B) have a go at me for playing with electrickery.
I do plan to be overly cautious and safety paranoid though.
Here's what I have so far:
Top left will be the test motor to see if I'm getting 3 phase, its a 3HP 3 phase motor.
Top right is the idle/pilot motor that will hopefully generate the 3 phase, its a 7.5HP 3 phase motor.
Bottom is a 1HP single phase motor that will be the pony/donkey.
Already had my first fail trying to get the old motor at waist height....it can stay on the ground from now on.
Any tips would be appreciated. I will keep the thread updated with progress!
