I have a large industrial trough/ribbon U mixer that I brought in from China - It's a bit rough but does the job for the last couple of years. This sort of thing
Now I want a bigger one and am considering making it myself. In the size I want it would be 6mm end plates and a 4mm trough, I'd have those laser cut and the trough can be made locally. Then basically its a couple of bearings, 2 seals, a 7.5kw 3ph motor, a large gearbox and a frame.
My question is what sort of facilities do I need to find to make the spiral blade sections part of the ribbon? This is mine -
As you can see here and above it is 90deg sections welded (badly) to the arms. Ideally I'd like to buy the whole ribbon ready made but next best is having the sections made. The outer sections will need to be 6mm and inner ones 5mm.
