Once you have used your TIG welder to convert a collection of 1.6mm tungstens into a series of precise models of heads-on-sticks, how do you you resharpen them? I dont mean the obvious stuff about making them pointy on a clean wheel, rather the bit just before?
I tried nipping off the head at the neck but it's hard, and the brittle tungsten can splinter. I tried a cutoff wheel, but it takes some cutting and the tungsten is left red. Then I tried butting them into the wheel before applying the point, but they tend to shatter at the supporting bracket. Finally I alighted upon sticking them in my vice and tapping the head with a hammer, and the head flies off.
None of these seems great. What do you do?
Cheers.
