I am new to the forum. Mods, please notify me if a thread of this nature is not appropriate.
I bought my lathe a couple of years ago and went a little too cheap and ended up with something solid but quite badly worn. I am trying not to repeat the mistakes of the past.
I am in the market for my first manual mill for use in a farm workshop and some hobby use. I have been checking out various stocklists by various dealers. Can anyone recommend good dealers to work with? First hand experience is preferred. In particular, I am in touch with Peter Hill Machine Sales, Blue Diamond Machine Tools and BGS Machinery.
Lastly, I have budgeted around £2k for the machine. I would push that slightly if a modest selection of tooling were included. Any suggestions on good machines at this price point? Would I be better to buy something well worn and then be prepared to sink a couple of £k getting it professionally reground? I am only 24 so I am viewing this as an investment for life.
