I needed a motorcycle brake lever perch repaired, as it had been worn / abused at the cable end stay. I don’t think I’ve got any pictures of before it was touched, but I wanted it built up so I could drill a new hole.
Here it is after I’d cleaned up a bit in readiness
I took it to a guy who does ally Tig locally, no problems before. He said the material was a bit odd, like die-cast, and there is a circular mark like an ejector on it, I’m not blaming him.
Here’s after welding:
When dressing it up however, bubbles galore.
Can anything be done with this or is it scrap? I’d rather fix it as it’s a bit of a pain to procure another.
If anyone thinks they can fix it in return for beer tokens please let me know.
