I'm decorating our hall and have opted to keep a hold of the current facings and skirtings, they have loads of layers of paint on them so I'd like to strip them off and start fresh.
The deep layers undoubtedly contain lead, I was lambasted last time I asked about lead () but I've a 9 month old little girl who's just started crawling so I do need to take some precautions!
What's the best way to go here? Heat gun set to below 590c or paint stripper?
A variable heat gun and a jug of synstrip cost about the same. I think a heat gun will be the easiest option but chemical stripping will be the safest.
I'll be finishing off with a light sand though using extraction and whilst Mrs grim and baby grim are out.
Opinions?
