I know some have proper bit on the main casting for this, but I did it on a vice the other day that didn't have this feature and wondered if I made a faux pas.
i have a number 2-3.5" number23-4.25" & a 25-6".the last 2 are q.release.It's quite confusing, the way they numbered them, as I found out when I was looking for one myself, No 3 is a 4" No 4 is a 4 1/2" with No 6 being 6" and presumably No 5 being 5" then they went to double digits in a similar scale but they have quick release mechanisms, no wonder they call them engineers vices! you need to be a bleedin engineer to work out how they sized them
