better explanation of what I meant...make a former (wood/metal) and clamp it underneath....then hit from the top with a bolster (or screwdriver that you don't like) along the dotted line (arrow). As the "V" is formed it will pull the hinge pivot in...avoids cutting maybe.
No real update I am afraid as the turbo has blown on my daily driver (mk4 golf) and although i have a few cars none of the bloody project cars are roadworthy.

I had a look at my mk2 flap yesteday (stored on my parents driveway) and the hinge is shallower than the Corrado's. Definitely worth a try swapping it over.
Stripped the turbo and cat (rattling) on the daily and giving it a serivce, inner and out track rods and tandem pump gasket change whislt i wait on turbo parts so hands full at the mo.
