i have a metric Chester 626, it’s got a M12 drawbar, the machine is currently in storage, a few miles away
I have ordered one of those banggood face mill cutters, through doubleboost’s link, when he reviewed them but it’s got a 7/16 thread, so my question is, could I just drill out and tap it M12, is it likely to be hardened, i could get a 7/16 drawbar off eBay, but it being stored elsewhere it makes it difficult to measure length wise, those on eBay seem 600mm long, and it means having two sizes of drawbar, I possibly could have ordered one with a M12 thread, but M12 seems less common,
I guess I am just pondering what to do, I am mainly metric, so making one means buying or borrowing the die,
Any thoughts?
Also has anyone done a review on cheap boring heads, possibly my next purchase
