Hi guys, wondering if anyone can offer any advice on this. I'm looking for a new MIG, as my sealey mightymig is really on its last legs - getting by for now, but I dont want to throw money at it.

I was set on the R-Tech:

But this one on ebay has TIG capability, for less money. Cant find much about them on here, so thought I'd ask for opinions from anyone who may have taken the plunge. At the moment I cant tig, but it might be nice to have the option to learn.

    Thoughts!?

    Welcome aboard, Kev :waving:

The R-Tech will do TIG too, you just need a suitable torch and , of course, a pure argon supply.
The second link is certainly cheaper but what would the service side of things be like if something went wrong. R-Tech's is brilliant and imho worth laying out the extra for the peace of mind it provides.

I suppose 'you pays yer money and takes yer chance', as they say. Depends on whether you're prepared to extend your budget.

Good luck with whichever way go.

I have been here before many times and had them but they were completely ballcocks. Finished up buying again shortly after a mig tig and plasma from rtech mainly due to good reviews and super service. As I'm a man in a shed it was enough to pay and if I did make money from it then Lorch or EWM are the only 2 that would make me part with my dosh. You have been warned buy cheap buy twice

I have the R tech and just set it up for Tig for £40 plus argon. It will only be DCEN scratch tig so not suitable for Ali.
