After my kitchen water damage disaster, tomorrow or Monday the insurance company's electrician will be fitting a new consumer unit to replace two old units, The old original still has wire fuses and one covering the house extension has MCB's. An old industrial cast iron cased box with a double pole isolator and a wire fuse supplies the garage , And its never give any trouble at all (never ever blow the fuse in over 40years) The feed to the garage is two core armoured cable but I cant remember the size. each core is around 3mm dia of several twisted wires, And about ninety feet long, mostly underground. What do I have to tell the electrician to ensure that I continue to have a trouble free supply. Breaker amps and type etc, Boxford lathe with a two horsepower motor, mig and tig welders up 210amps, Hypertherm 45 plasma, 14cu/ft compressor, only the plasma and compressor used at the same time,
Fingers crossed for some good replies.
