Dear ALL, Need Help URGENT ...
I am a Trainer working in one of a small metal furniture factory. We have about 20 welders station at the Welding Dept.. The main type of welding process used is MIG weld. Majority of the welder are foreign worker ( Nepalese, Vietnam, Bangladesh) with experienced working with us 5 - 10 years. Everyday, they willbe welding 1 mm thickness round, square, rectangle, oval steel pipes. The average length of weld is 13 mm.
No doubt, we don't have customer's complain on the welding work, but there are doubt anf question in my mind.
Q1) How am I to check the quality of the welding
work without sending for proper test ?
Is there a simple way to check or verified all
welding work done in the factory ?
Q2) To my perception, if the thickness of the
material we are welding is 1 mm or less, the
fusion or the weld penetration will be GOOD.
Am I right or wrong on this ?
Q3) How to know that the skill of the welder are
deteriorating ?
Q4) Is it compulsory to send welders for re-training
at interval even though we don't have complain
from ****omer ?
Due to cost saving, we don't send welder for
re-fresh training. We just do with what we
can internally.
I would appreciate if anyone could help me to clear
my doubt. Thank you.
