Hi. I had to take the sleeve off my torch to remove a bit of weld that had got onto the tip and now I have problems reassembling. Should the shroud inside the sleeve go over the tension spring? I can get the sleeve most of the way over the spring apart from the last 5mm. What am I doing wrong!?

Spring should have a clip/bend on one end. It may have have hopped out of its groove and needs realigning...

Thanks for that. I have got him in the groove but I still can't see what is stopping the sleeve coming down. What about the inner shroud? Where does that go?

Turn it clockwise or anticlockwise as you push it on and it pushes the spring into the grooves out of the way.

The plastic sleeve should go up inside the metal outer shroud.

They work the opposite way to convention, it's clockwise to remove and anti-clockwise to fit or you will be fighting the retaining spring.
