Hi all,
I am looking at making a diy press brake but will post a thread in the projects section on that..
A few questions I have about them in general first though!
1: I have seen some where the lower part lifts up, and some where the top part presses down. What's the difference?
2: I have a small '3-in-1' metal worker. The lower v block has (I think) a 90deg V in it.
If I only wanted to fold 35deg folds would I want a 35deg V for a better edge on the fold or would I still use the 90deg and set up some sort of stop?
3: again, on my small press brake, the upper part of the tool has a point in the centre of each of the teeth. On a lot of the bigger machines I have seen this point/edge is either on one edge rather than in the middle or I have seen several that have an undercut behind the pressing edge. Some of them are a sort of J shape if anybody knows what I am talking about. Again, what is the reason for this?
Thanks!
