Just a heads up for those it may concern. My mate had just found out so I’m putting it here.
They have changed the HGV test so you can do a C+E and not have to do two separate tests. We know this as it’s been discussed here before.
If you have a pre Nov 21 provisional it will only have C as a provisional category so you will get refused at test. Guess how he found out. You need to email the DVSA for a an amendment certificate they send you to present at test.
It may help someone out.

Adding categories to your driving licence
You may be able to get provisional entitlement to higher category vehicles, and automatic entitlement to lower categories if you pass a higher category driving test.
