Hi,
The last couple of times i've needed my car welded i've been lucky enough to have my dad there to lend a hand. But to be honest he's not great, and he does know that. lol. So, now i have to do my own dirty work!
I read through the tutorial on here for a while, managed to convince my dad to let me take the welder back home with me and i gave it a shot this afternoon.
Welds are ok, but not great. I managed to set the wire tension and speed as described in the tutorial. But, I dont think i'm putting enough power through as the weld doesnt seem to be penetrating fully. I'm only welding 1mm steel, 0.6mm wire, co2 gas with a Sealey 100XT. So wouldnt have thought it would be a problem? From the tutorial on power settings, the penetration i get is exactly like the second weld.
Also, if anyone has this welder or can shed some light, can you explain what the two switches on the front do? I presume they are power settings, one switch is either min or max and the second switch is either 1 or 2.
Long post!!
Any help would be great.
Thanks, Simon
