Don't know why they used AC, would get a cleaner more stable weld pool with DC.

That's a godsend, I have a huge pile of broken plates, cups and bowls* after we hosted a wedding reception recently.

Acetylene should work pretty well, the extra flame is a bonus for the glazed finish.

May be you need to arc up on a bit of earthenware china to start that arc.

It's earthenware so that should not pose a problem.

I usually use 3013 rods for welding China. If it's porcelain it's usually 2013 as one pass will do

I like to stand in a bucket of water at the same time while holding the earth in my mouth to make sure of a good contact.

I usually use heavy water,when dry. The extra deuterium helps the lectrics pixies flow
