Hi All,
I have a very simple lighting circuit in my garage, four 58w flourecent striplights off 2 switches (2 each)
The switch is a 2G2W (but not used for 2 way switching), and it comes off an 8A MCB. The consumer unit whaich also has a 16A MCB for a couple of sockets, is protected by a 40mA RCD.
Here's the problem - regularly, when I switch off the lights at the switch, the RCD trips. Not every time but probably 50% of the time. It's particularly annoying because the RCD is quite high up, I'm a bit of a short-ar5e, and I can't reach it without getting a stool to stand on!
Before I simply launch into replacing everything until the problem goes away, are there any obvious culprits?
All advice gratefully received.
Regards,
Richard.
