Folks - I wonder if you can advise.
I just been practicing plug welding and needs some hints & tips.
I can get reasonable looking welds when it's flat on the bench, but when I try it vertically it looks a real mess.
Weld starts to run down the front & very little penetration.
I'm using:
1.2mm sheet x 2
Clarke 5mm hole punch/joggler
0.6 mm wire
Clarke 135 TE
Universal Argon
What do I do - turn up the voltage?
I also need to practice positioning the torch too. Several of my welds were off centre - with a small part of the hole not filed with weld (the bit I can't see behind the torch).
Cheers C.T.
