I am doing some bodywork repairs on our horsebox at the moment, which has involved plug welding 0.9mm steel. I have been using the punch on a joggler which I have had for many years but I am having difficulty getting the plug welds to hold on the back piece, despite turning the welder up a couple of steps when doing the plugs. I used to use the punch for plug welds years ago with a gaseless MIG and don't recall having the same issue. The joggler is punching a hole about 5mm in diameter, would it be best to drill a larger hole?
