Hi folks,
some time ago I started a rebuild thread for a Clarke compressor (http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/clarke-se16c150-pump-rebuild-tips.56393/)
Went really well until I got to the wiring, where I ground to a halt.
Clarke sent me all the wiring diagrams they had - none of which quite matched my motor. But then I got a bit of luck and found the following two pictures on an old post on another forum of a brand new, identical motor that belongs to a chap there:
So - its 1:26am and I've just come back in from the garage, having copied the above wiring into my compressor. I haven't tried it yet as its late and I don't want to bother the neighbours, plus I'm a bit nervous of damaging something by turning it on with incorrect wiring.
So I've drawn up a diagram of the setup I've seen above and was hoping that someone would be kind enough to check to see if it looks OK.
On the diagram, the two groups of wires that come out of the motor into the capacitor box are drawn in red.
One problem… my wires aren't labelled and I've had to go by colour. I don't have a multimeter so the best I've been able to do is to use a battery and a bulb to find the pairs of wires that come out of the motor.
The pairs are:
Brown-Red
Blue-Blue
Black-Yellow
And here's my diagram, fingers crossed it looks ok. If so I'll continue my rebuild thread to finally finish it.
Really appreciate any help.
