It was becoming a chore cutting through 10mm thick titanium and D2 on the bandsaw so this happened. I made a torch holder that would fit where the spindle goes on an alexander 2a pantograph. 2:1 ratio with plastic chopping boards for templates. Tig torch is just for the switch. There's a heat effected zone that has to be ground off although it would get that anyway.
At some point I'll fabricate a dedicated machine as this takes a while to setup and the machine has to be cleaned afterwards. Doesn't have to be extremely accurate. The box is insulated from the machine to avoid current going through bearings. There's water in the bottom of that box. Not got the space for a cnc machine at the moment and this is very quick once it's set up. Plasma cutter is one of those generic 60a Chinese units. It's been holding up well so far.
