My Pastry Table. Picked up two broken ends of a singer sewing machine. The deal was very quick and very cheap so I did'nt look at them in any detail. Upon inspection at home I discovered both panel were broken in at least four or five places. This gave me the opportunity to explore brazing which was my preferred method of joining it up, I have oxy propane. Localised paint removal around join then some very light vee prep. Bit more cleaning then braze together. After a couple of goes I got the hang of it and did a reasonable job on all the breaks.
Once cooled, lots of fettling with the die grinder to blend it all in, came out quite good. Shot blast with glass grit and then assemble into a shortened frame to suit the size of granite slab I had. This I also cut on my wet saw following advice from here and polished up edges using pads fitted to a slow speed grinder.
The only thing I would change is the ply base to a granite one as the brown colour doesn't look good, other than that I'm quite happy with this
