So, about a year ago I was doing a lot of agricultural fence and gate repair. I suspect I will need to this year too. Anyway, I needed a good little portable stick welder. The key word...portable (and nothing industrial, it was small repair work). I wanted something nice and of reasonable quality. I was happy with both the R-Tech and Parweld machines I have, so I went there. I really wanted the R-Tech Pro 175, but it was sold out EVERYWHERE (at the time). So, I bought the Parweld XTS 162. You know, it worked great. It has a nice cellulous rod feature...I thought awesome for 6011s. I never used the TiG feature. I don't really need it, because I have a TiG welder in my shop. I got a wild hair up my ass the other day, went on Amazon and bought some equipment to set it up. I purchase a standard #17 flex torch (nothing high end -- generic, but this was a test). Dinse on the end with an Argon hose coupling. I got to say...it's interesting. I kind of like it. This could be a good little back up. I am posting this on here to see what other think. I’ll chuck some pictures up on here this weekend. I didn't pay much for the torch (34.99GBPs). The torch came with some consumables, but I swapped them out for my gas lens set up. That little box does great. Thoughts?
