Hi All,
Recently started using my 252 and am having a strange issue with it. Basically I think the gas solenoid is freezing up, but i'm not sure. When I first started using it it ran quite a lot of weld in bits and bobs before the gas solenoid stopped opening. Turned off for a bit then back on and it was working again
In recent use, today for example, I wasn't doing huge amounts of welding and had the same issue. I had wondered if it was the reg but have ruled it out, when pressing the gas purge button I can hear a faint clicking, then when it starts working again it's a nice loud click and I get gas.
It worked once or twice then stopped again, turned the machine off for a bit then back on and it worked once then stopped. Then off for another little while and back on but with gas off and it was clicking nice and loudly sounding right, gas back on and it seemed to be fine again.
Any one have any ideas before I contact Parweld. I was thinking about opening it up to check connections but as it's new and I can always hear some form of clicking (either when using torch or gas purge button) I don't want to risk the warranty.
Only thing I can think of that might not be right is the reg, it came with the machine but is marked argon (shouldn't make a difference using it with mix gas) it is however a bottom entry reg and is sitting on its back gauges pointing upwards.
