Paint measure pots ratio for epoxy paint (Help)

Please take it easy with me on this question. In the pasted I have used epoxy 121 from rustbuster.co.uk for my chassis parts on my vw beetle and the mixing ratio has been 1-1 with 5% thinners . But I have just orders some epoxy 421 for sparying body work but am unsure on mixing ratio can you help ? I have a mixing cup and its shows 4-1 marking then 10% , 20% ,30% would the % be for the thinners ? As the 20% marking does not look like much for thinners ?

Yes it is the thinners quantity. Check your mixing ratios though before you start, as 1:1 for epoxy primer sounds unlikely.

that's a standard beaker mate It, im sure gives you a scale from 0 to 600ml. 2:1 3:1 and 4:1 ratio with 10 20 and 30% thinners.
10% is not very much

Had another read of your OP
I think maybe the answer is use the 0-600ml scale. e.g 250ml primer 250ml activater =500ml then add thinner to 550ml I.e 50ml (10% of 500)

Think I got that and yes my beaker does have 0-600ml on other side but my other problem is I only need small amounts as am spraying repair panels as I go , so the epoxy 421 I will be using says a ratio of 4 -1 with 20% thinners ? so I shall use the 4-1 scale as in photo..

Absolutely. In small measure 10 20% is little more than a splash really.

I have only painted push bike frames lately so I never mix more than 125cc, and often only need 50cc or less.

I found some smaller cups, Colad 350ml cups, from spraygun direct they were about a tenner for 50. Use the ml scale if your mixing small amounts.

For small amounts of paint mixing I use clean cat food tins and a steel ruler to work out amounts.

If you ask at your local paint factors for measuring stick they usually give them away for free

For small quantities I use spoons from the pound shop and then clean them afterwards!

its the little round dots left in the top coat caused by silicone mostly. Painters nightmare.
