I am in the process of making a gate from 50mm box section. (Its not exactly a gate, its a door where some of it is sheeted and more of the framework is exposed to the weather.)
The box section will be exposed to the weather, Im 4miles from the Atlantic ocean, and we get plenty rain on the west coast of Ireland. Frame will flex in the wind too.
Its new steel, there is some v minor rust on the steel, I can clean it off quite easily with a wire wheel on an angle grinder.
I would like to paint the frame, with a coating which will withstand the harsh environment.
Im thinking epoxy paint........
If this was a boat what woudl be recommended ?
galvanizing not an option, too far away from galv plant, and my door is 16feet X12feet, bit awkward for transporting.
