Simple idea to keep dust down.
Yeah. 50 year old heavies are always challenging. Still have nightmares about a subsiding garage years back. Nothing touched em.Only one's i've had a battle with are old houses with an inner skin of brick thats harder than a really hard thing. By the time you've finished bashing away at it there's no plaster left on the wall!
Rough edges are always an issue when they are bad enough that the edge of the faceplate won't cover them - as per the man drilling through his wheely bin lid
a total waste of time and money .I just use a narrow 3 inch floorboard bolster chisel cut round the soft plaster and chip the brick out with a high frequency bosch breaker . no damage and a flat back surface for fixing .. do thousands of them . I bet I can do them faster and neater than any other way or gismo on the market . I use these with a 1 inch sharp chisel https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/254084370102?chn=ps
These are awful. Had a sparks using one last year. Dust everywhere.
Yup did wonder about the bit size too. Suppose they went big for less holes.Nice idea, but it’d be a better finish using a smaller masonry bit.
Done it before on seriously hard walls, with a 6 or 7 mm bit.
