So as seen on the aquired thread I got a new stove, before firing it up I am going to give it a bit of a service and a clean and will post on here what I am doing. I am not aiming for perfect but just a bit nicer.
It might get repainted in the future, but I doubt it. I would like to work out what the war department badge on the top looked like as its missing.
So the stove has 2 legs that forn over from the top (like the one at the back) to underneath
These also act as a lock to hold the top down
So checked the lid opens cleanly and no real issues there.
The Lid opens and the fuel tank slides out moving the burner from the stored position at the back to the middle. This slides on 2 rails and is held in place by 2 small brass screw type things. This will be removed to make cleaning the box easier (at the back there is some wood chips that have basicly welded them selves in I want to remove)
In the back of the lid is the tool kit, in the modified version they were replaced with one tool. from L to R, Pricker for Jet, Spare burner plate (arrow points to the thinner section for removal, then 2 spanners for almost complete dismantal. On the back of the lid is 2 nice signs
Hopefully all this stove really needs is a clean!
Hopefully this post is in the right place as it is a bit of a project, not just the practical but there is a missing plate that would have had the Stores number (later NSN number) and the war Dept broad arrow etc, if I can find more details on this I will try and make a new one or get one made up.
