I'm always looking through the classic car sections on Ebay and looking for a classic car locally that needs recomissioning, i'll mot it and sell it on
but i'd never known anything about nsu prinz's and i thought it would be a bit of a challenge as i cant find any info on them, there isnt any spares and i cant speak german
i went to view the nsu and bought a mk10 jaguar too (that will be another story) and got a good deal for the pair so the little nsu doesnt owe me much money
the car was delivered and i set about getting the engine to turn, everything was coated in gt85 and everything has come undone except for the spark plug that snapped in the head its so corroded in that ive welded countless bolts to it but it snaps the bolts before it turns
i resorted to taking the head off (just as well as the pistons are seized in their bores) but i really didnt want to take the head off as the camshaft is driven by eccentric con rods and has a few pegs, brass inserts and other weird looking things to re align
this is the nearest i can find to the drive of the camshaft, the rockers are different on mine
the cars pretty tidy in some ways, just needs a bit of welding at the bottom of the a posts and the bottom of the offside rear quarter
heres the car
