Always wanted to be able to weld but never had the equipment or space. Well that’s changed as I bought a Clarke 151 and successfully laid a few beads of weld onto some 1.2mm sheet off cut. I could lie and say I was a natural but let’s just say I have plenty of scope for improvement, after distorting the metal and making some blobs of weld and after playing with the settings finished off with a couple of inches of good looking weld with penetration. I know it’s only a good couple of inches but it’s my couple of inches
This was done on the disposable bottle it came with, which I know are poor at supply the gas. I have since got a 9ltr hobby bottle and regulator with the aim to practice, practice and practice a bit more until I can get some kind of consistency before having a go at the rear arches on my Shogun.
Be warned that I will be back and picking your brains as I try to develop this art and gain a level of competence.
