Hi guys, new to the forum, so please be gentle !
My boss has just purchased a new MIG welder. Draper MW1801AT 180a. Any one familliar ??? Not being a welder himself or doing much work with metal he has no clue with regard mig settings. Nor do I. I have done a small amount of welding before with a mig welder that had already been setup so have no idea about settings.
So as you have guessed, the help needed is with the settings. It has 8 stage power setting, Variable wire speed, PCB controlled ramp up, burn back, wire speed and timer and the manual, well if thats what you call it, gives now setting advice.
Spent several hours blowing varrying sized holes in scrap of the same thickness steel box section. Now have it set so it produces welds of sorts but would like to be able to fine tune a tad.
Material thickness 1 - 1.5 mm
Mild steel
Argoshield light gas
Any help/ advice would be greatfully received
regards
Paul
