Hi. Just joined the forum having seen some interesting threads especially regarding euro torch conversions.
I have a thirty year old Clarke 90. It's had almost no use. I bought it all those years ago to work on my Minor that needs plenty of replacement parts. But soon I will finally have the time to use it!
I did have a small amount of training in welding many years ago: stick, MIG, TIG, and gas, and I used my MIG some years ago to build a frame that the Minor is mounted on to roll it and allow access.
I've never done plug welding but will be giving that a go on some practice pieces in the future.
I'll be doing some more reading and trying to decide whether to upgrade the torch on my current machine which has always welded nicely other than the wire feed never being the smoothest. And of course you can't use Binzel style torch parts. Alternative is to wait a while and buy a better machine, but not sure its worthwhile given the use it will get in the future.
