Hallo, Newbie idiot here, just had a very upsetting evening of realising my own stupidity.
Is it possible to get a new set of cables etc for an SIP Migmate 130 turbo? Looking at the connections the easiest thing would be to get a complete torch end all the way back to the connections at the wire feed ( and refit the back end of the gas line)
basically what 'appened was (you know it going to be a dumb story now, right?)
I've been getting feed problems all evening, trying to put in about eight inches of weld on my camper vans new ride height adjuster. It'd twist the wire up and I'd refeed. after about the fourth time it wouldn't get out to the tip of the gun, would stop just shy of the connections. I'd noticed the spring core popping out the end everytime I tried to feed so I assumed that something had come loose up in the gun. so I took that apart and found the wire feed nylon tube. In trying to unscrew that I must have kinked it somewhere so now the wire runs very stiff for the first two feet or so. Also at some point the low load wire must have gotten broken so I've had to run a bit of light flex outside the rubber tube to make it work again.
The annoyance of it is I not only found a workaround for the feed problem (leave the contact tip in until the wire is in the spring up at the tip, then unscrew the contact tip to let the wire come out the end, the jam was the spring being pushed forwards by the wrie whcih wouldn't run down the centre.) and managed to get a decent steady roll during welding from the wire feeder by backing off the screw holding the reel on. fed beautifully after that.
I can mostly work around the current issues by zip tying the first couple of feet of rubber tube to a splint to keep it straight but its pretty ugly and may cause problems when I get onto the rest of the camper project.
So if anyone is fed up with theirs and the gun and cables are ok, would anyone be up for that? and is there anyone in kent who'd be savvy enough to sort out the wire feed motor issue should it rear its ugly head?
thanks !!
Richard
