HI guys,
I know this topic has probably been talked about far too many times but im stuck so afraid here we go again.
Im a total novice to welding, I have been playing about with scrap and am getting better but still not quite at the point where I can start welding new panels onto my classic car.
I have watched many videos about welding technique etc and have taken it onboard but still struggling a wee bit. The one thing I have noticed on all the videos is the welders used appear new and compact .
The welder I have is a migatronic mxe250 which must be at least 25 years old. It sat in the corner of my garage for an eternity. it was dusted off and treated to a new torch and liner and new spool of wire.
A couple of very experienced welders have used this machine and it works fine....for them... but I wonder if a newer machine might not be better for a novice welder.
I have tried to find some training but cant find any locally.
So I recon I can sell my welder on ebay and put funds towards a newer one but the questions are ;-
1. will it actually make any difference
2. what on earth would I buy .
thank you all in advance
Grant.
