Thanks for the offer - very kind - but I'm after a regular local supply.Never used the toolstation ones but is stuck with a well known brand personally. Can' help you with were you are. But sure you could probably source some whitebox murex 6013 online for not alot of money. How desperate are you in home on Friday and could put the 3/4 box of fincord I have in post for cost of postage
Have Pennine closed? I had heard that BOC were "rationalising". Wonder where Chris has gone. Been there a long time. Ive known them since the Dennis Stagg days way way back when between us we supplied loads of rods into ROF Barnbow in Crossgates where they made the Challenger Tanks. They used to take 10mm (yes 10 mm) 309MoL stainless..Pennine have closed down.
I need some 2.5mm 6013 rods.
Are the toolstation ones any good?
Alternatively, where can I get a "white box" of decentish rods locally?
Ta.

The cheap(ish) rods I got from Pennine were actually pretty good.

Pennine and IWS were both part of BOC, it wasn't a take over just a name changeThey have been taken over by Industrial Welding Supplies. The phone number for Pennine was on divert to IWS in Doncaster when they first closed. I found this out when i was after some more tips for my plasma as I originally bought it from them.
Edit: Paul beat me to it
There use to be a welding supply place in seacroft but thats also gone.
It was Frank Myers, Frank's lad, Richard ended up working at Cameron's down in Stourton, used to see him a lot before they shut downCan you remember the name of it?? - it was there when I was a lad.
