New mig torch required (opinions)

ive got me a brand new murex mxe 4m euro torch but it will not feed 0.6 wire
so ive got to buy a new one. any suggestions on the make cheers ocean

What's wrong with it? I've never had trouble feeding 0.6mm wire through a 4m torch. Did you have the cord straight?

Hi malcolm. ive tried a new liner also the torch came with a new liner but both
struggle to feed the wire and end up twisted at the drive wheel. ive borrowed
some 0.8 stainless wire that ive tried and had no trouble my 0.6 wire is a bit
rusty but not much. i have to use 0.6 because my feed motor wont slow
down enough to feed 0.8 wire the machine was designed for 0.6 i can get a
3m parweld torch for 28 pounds but i cant be as good as the one ive got
which is more like 180 pounds should i try some new 0.6 wire but some
people say you will always struggle with a 4m lenth on 0.6

Malcolm, 0.6mm becomes a long spring as it curls down a larger liner. Make feed choppy. On my 5m gun you could pull the wire in/out almost 2 inches.

You should be able to get a liner for 0.6mm.

I want to get a 0.6mm liner for mine or a second torch. Mine came with a liner for 1.2mm. Worked OK on 0.8mm but 0.6mm was just too sloppy. I got a liner for 0.9mm and it works much better on 0.6mm but still has a bit of slop.

That's a point - is the torch fitted with a blue liner or a red one? Blue is for 0.6mm - 0.9mm wire and red for 1.0mm - 1.2mm. A lot of the 4m torches probably come with the red ones. Which model do you have? That's the giveaway - some are set up for 3.2mm wire!

As I say I had no trouble with a Parweld 4m, but moved to a Binzel 3m torch because the Parweld kept electrocuting me and 4m was a pain to keep reasonably straight.

Can't see the torch making much difference though - it's mostly made of liner. Is there a big gap between the rollers and the wire feed tube? That would sensitise the machine to birdsnesting.
