need some hard steel for a shooting spinner

as you can see from the thread in the projects section i have made a mess of the spinner i made
i need something a bit harder, hardox?????
anyone help me. ideally a 6 inch dimeter circle, quite thick.
anyone help me. we dont use anything like that at work
someone must be able to help me

Hey bud, me again. We always used to use boiler plate for our backstops and of course falling plates. You may get to a point where it's bullet proof, but so heavy it won't spin any more! Just be really really sure of your danger area behind. I'd hate to be reading about your trial! Not saying that you aren't careful of course. But there are, as you know, huge forces involved here. Might be worth angling the spinner plate very slightly to ensure that the projectile heads downwards on impact. This also has the effect of increasing the cross sectional depth of the plate. (like tank armour does)

What about a bit of Ti, or does it need to be welded, there`s always someone on fleabay flogging various sheets, dont think I have any at the moment

there is always an angle on the spinners i FF. there is a grass bank behind which is many hundreds of feet deep so no chance of coming out the other side. most of our shooting is from my mates defender, inside or off the bonnet increasing the angle if i do miss. the lay of land is on our side too as 90%of the fields we cover are in a vally.
next time we have a clay shooting day you will have to nip up
