Hi All,
I have splashed out and bought an InverterFusion AC/DC 210 TIG welder. I have an auto darkening mask for use with MMA (stick), but when I use it with TIG, I am not convinced that I am not being flashed, as the arc seems to get very bright on occasions. There is a "flaring" up and down effect. I have done very little TIG welding so far, so this may be due to crappy technique, but as I want to be able to weld thin stuff in stainless and ali, I will need to use lower current settings.
Can anyone recommend a good quality auto- arkening helmet for low current TIG use? I have difficulty seeing what is going on through a 9 or 10 shade lens sometimes, so the lowest level of tint would help me see what I am doing.
Also, I find that the inside of the lens tends to "fog over" when I am breathing inside the helmet, especially when I am welding in the garage in winter! Are there any helmets that are shaped on the inside to channel your hot breath away from the lens and prevent "fogging"?
Any advice and opinions welcomed, especially regarding price and availability!
Cheers,
Rob
