Evening,
Hopefully people don't mind me posting this, it's not welding related, but it is metal related.....
I'm investigating a myford 254 plus lathe for a friend of mine, and in discussing it with another pal, he mentioned it might be worth asking on here. Basically a friend, let call him Dave (as that's his name) purchased a myford 254 plus lathe from a school his wife works at some years ago (I'm trying to remember exactly, but I reckon 7-8 years ago) but hasn't used it since, so is thinking about moving it on.
We've been trying to find a approx value, but can't find any others for sale? Anyone got any idea how to get a fair value for it other than sticking it on eBay?
As an aside, there's a possibility I may actually be interested in it, but that depends massively on its value, and is very much a secondary issue here, (although a major reason I'm not keen on him putting it on eBay to try and value it) mostly as I'm not 100% sure how suitable it would be for me.......
I'll try and find out what sort of accessories he has with it, as this will obviously affect the value significantly, but it would be nice to get some sort of base value for the machine. If it was a super 7 or simillar it would be easy, but 254's seem rare, and the 254 plus's rarer still......
Cheers,
Pete
