I've found that with welding cleanlines is everything, no paint, no rust and results will improve. Also my welding improved dramatically when I invested in a cheap auto darkening helmet.
This site should have a rule about offensive welding pics...
And to be constructive... I think your wire was feeding a little fast on that last pic. And you're maybe moving a little fast too. If your on the minimum setting and blowing through, have a look at the tutorial suggestions for welding thin sheet. If you're not on minimum setting, perhaps you should be...
I've being doing welding evening classes and even just a short way in I've picked up far more than I would have done playing at home.
Pretty much the the first thing I picked up on the course was the noise a good weld makes, difficult for me to describe but when you hear the sound you know that things are moving in the right direction. I've spent sometime experimenting with power and wire speed to see the difference on various material and get a feel for the right settings.
The equipment makes a huge difference. They've got some "proper" welders that make my SIP130 seem like a total pile of tosh and making MIG welding a relative doddle.
Based on the welds in these pics get one a course, it'll make a huge difference. If your serious about welding it is money well spent.
