I run of electric and oil at home
As most of you know I love cooking and to do some Indian stuff in authentic Indian pans gas is a must
Few years ago I made a granite top pastry table which ended up being the perfect top for an old calor gas stove that Dad had made for me
We’ll cue my hols in India last year and I bought another burner ring for not much money. Didn’t need it but was too cheap to walk past
So after almost a year of doing nothing I decided it was time for a stainless steel contraption. Here starts the problem. Plenty of ideas but no TIG (yet).
Quick consultation with Paul (Mod on the forum) who isn’t far from where I live and a plan was hatched. I acquired some SS and cut it to shape (badly) and Paul would weld it up for me
Well today was the day. I’ve spent alll day at Paul’s workshop watching a craftsman at work. He sorted out my dodgy cutting, fettled all the tricky bits , welded it all together, made some bracketry to hold the burner then to top it off made me some adjustable feet
To say I’m impressed is an understatement!!!
Here’s a couple of pics of the finished article. It’s one of a kind
Also had a go at some TIG, first time ever. Most important thing I learnt is that you need to remove the plastic film from the welding visor so you can see what’s going on !!!!
Thank you Paul
