Morning folks,
Was out in the garage yesterday having a first play with my newly acquired Tradesmig, but am trying to understand if I've got the concept of the spot/stitch controls properly - as they didn't seem to be doing much

As I understand it, the Spot switch (when set to anything other than "OFF") should allow the torch to run for between a half and six seconds then shut-off, according to where the dial is set.
Similarly, the Stitch switch (when set to anything other than "OFF") should cause the torch to remain off for between a half and six seconds AFTER the Spot time, and then start a new cycle on the Spot timer.
That's the theory, but in practice nothing happens whatever the Spot switch is set to, I just get continuous operation for as long as I hold down the trigger, as though the Spot timer is always "OFF". Noticeably, the Stitch switch clicks when I turn it away from the "OFF" position and doesn't rotate past 10, however the Spot switch just turns round and round and round all day.
Suggestions happily accepted Is it likely to be something as simple as a broken potentiometer (or whatever the technical term is) on the Spot timer, or something much more sinister?
