Hi, newbie to the site, so please be gentle with me!
I fired up my murex tradesmig 130 after a lay up of several years. the on/off switch lights up but nothing else. On investigation the internal 3 amp fuse was blown. I changed it and it blows straight away. The 24v (or maybe 27v, can't quite remember), leaves the transformer, goes through the 3A fuse, through what looks like a thermal cutout on top of the welding trans and onto the pcb. Unplug the 20 pin plug from the pcb and the fuse doesn't blow, plug it in and it does. So, left the pcb unpluged, and just connected the 24v (27v?) and 0 volt pins with jumpers (to their relevant ports on the plug, ie: A8 and A9, not to each other!) and the fuse blows, so the problem has to be on the board. I then unsoldered the rectifier from the pcb to test it and it seems ok. Having reached the limit of my electronics competence, i thought i'd appeal to wiser heads.
Any help will greatly appreciated
regards
