Hi everyone and Merry Christmas, hope you all had a good one. Can you guess what I got as a gift from my lovely girlfriend? That's right a Sealey MightyMig100 and whilst it's a good solution for my needs I was a bit confused by the setup procedure and was wondering if anyone could assist me in understanding what on earth has happened.
So I'm running through the instructions which are all straight forward and then I get to the part about feeding the wire through, no problem, I remove the tip etc and then switch the unit on and the motor starts to feed the wire through, all is going well and I'm waiting to see my wire come out at the torch end BUT what I get is a very long and thin spring and then the wire feed stops, I can't push this spring back in nor feed the wire through. If I manually retract the wire back onto the spool I can then push the spring back in but it keeps coming out every time I try the feed process.
Can anyone shed any light on what is going on? I'm very confused.
I have attached two images, one shows the spring fulled out of the torch as far as it would go, the other shows the spring after you retract the wire and push it back down.
