mig wire prices

well ive been down to my local engineering shop today to pick up a new wire brush, contact tips etc,

i was speaking to the guy and enquired about the price of there 0.8 mig wire i had to sit down when he gave me there price.

i usualy buy my wire from leengate at 47.00 exl vat for .8 mild steel 15kg roll
the guys i spoke to today charge £16.99 exl vat for 15kg roll

i came home with 2 rolls.

how much do you guys usualy pay for a reel?

We buy ours from Leengate for around £15 per 15kg roll of 0.8.

so why the hell are leengate charging 47.00 for a 15kilo roll to walk in customers,

Its called 'list price' an imaginary, over inflated price that makes people think they are getting a good deal when they drop it a few quid below list.
When enquiring about the cost of something, we almost always get ' we can do you a good deal at soandso pounds, cos list price is this much you know'.
Load of rubbish. They are having yer pants down.
If they tried that on with trade customers, they would be laughed out of business.
